idiosyncratic

well these don't look quite as striking in the blogging world, but you get the gist.
working on such a big project sort of minimizes the importance of everything else, and possibly for the first time in my life, i am not disappointed in the idea of putting all my eggs in one basket. onward..

les bujold une famille

i'm continuing to work with these images along with some old family slides that have caught my eye. i'm interested in the passage of traits, both physical and personal, and that's where photographs of old photographs become interesting to me. i'm not sure where/how these will become a part of my thesis, but i think i'm getting pretty close to my destination. i seem to be circling it just close enough so that i can't quite see the landing pad yet, but i recognize its general area.

achilles

currently, i'm crossing my fingers that tomorrow is a snow day (very unlikely) and meandering about my newly organized room. i could use the day to paint and think and read for pleasure.

the top image is a snapshot of my goofy parents: inspiration for my study on identity and relationships. it's an ever-changing subject and something that i constantly grapple with. every day, we are evolving into another version of ourselves and we are changed by conversations, relationships, arguments, things we've read or seen or dreamt of. right now, i can't escape my fascination with introspection and self- development.

eye of the beholder

i'm trying to get some good images of my parents to work with for this project, but obviously nothing goes as planned. here's one i snagged of my mother last weekend.
